About the Event:

Ecstatic dance is all about getting your body moving and connecting with your physical self! You can bob your head, tap your foot or go all out and jam with the DJ. This is a drug-free zone and all dancers are encouraged to let their body express in whatever way comes up for you.

Benefits of Dance:

Dancing builds neuroplasticity, a space to express yourself, a way to connect with your physical body, releases endorphins, boosts dopamine, reduces symptoms of depression, reduce stress, loosens joints, provides a fun way to exercise, helps you find community and connect with others, and so much more!

What to Expect:

• Welcome! - sign in when you get there. First 15 minutes is greetings, use of facilities, and meeting people!
• Guided Body release - with Julia, our facilitator, to help you connect to the body and begin to move
• Community Circle - to open and discuss what Ecstatic Dance is about and why we are all here. Review some rules and guidelines for dancing. Discuss respecting each others space.
• DANCE!
• Cooldown
• Close and Thank you!
• Reflection Circle - feel free to stay with the group after our closing circle for community updates and other group support. Not necessary. Feel free to leave at any time after we close.
